About her Work

“I close my eyes and take off on a magical carpet,
I find myself in mystical lands unknown,
Pure to its core, offering unconditionally all what lies in store,
Making me feel one, with every little experience it offers,
I sit back and ask myself, is this it, is this real?”

Yes that’s the feeling Payal experienced on her most recent magical trip to Ladhak. She feels that no pictures or words can do justice to the unconditional offerings of the divine abode and hasn’t experienced such vastness, diverse nature and beauty, all bundled up together. Be it tough rocky mountains, the shadow play of the fluffy white clouds, snow capped peaks adorning the golden rays of the morning sun, green meadows with lovely yellow flowers dancing to the gentle breeze, vast deserted sand dunes appearing from amidst nowhere, clear blue skies that at times seem to cheer up a passing lonely cloud, fluttering prayer flags marking the journey of faith, serene calm & colourful monasteries nurturing within great knowledge of The Enlightened Ones, stillness of spectacular royal blue watered lakes crossing over manmade limiting boundaries, the golden sunset that rests itself on the lap of the mountains as the day ends, or the refreshing chilly breeze that sieges your soul and sends you back, disillusioned to reality, you seem to have believed all your life.
Yes, that is the Magic of Ladhak! Payal’s  photobiography showcase – “Postcards from Ladhak” is just a tiny attempt to tickle your imagination and urge your soul to make this magical journey at the first opportunity you get. You surely want to experience the magic yourself, don’t you?
